Production

Curry Western Movies Pvt Ltd is an Indian company founded by Kamal Musale in 2019 in Mumbai. It is run alongside Line Producer Nupoor Kajbaje and Director Mukesh Singh. Born from an Indian father and Swiss mother, Kamal was raised and educated in Switzerland and England and now produces films that reflect his different cultural tastes.

Curry Western has completed its fourth feature film Kavita & Teresa, a co-production between Les Films du Lotus (Switzerland) and Kavita Teresa Film Ltd (U.K.).

Our previous production feature was Curry Western, a black comedy in English, shot in India and the U.K. (co-produced by Les Films du Lotus and Louise Production (Switzerland) and Flick The Switch (U.K.). Before that, we produced Bumbai Bird (coproduced with Les Films du Lotus (Switzerland), and co-produced Millions Can Walk, a feature documentary with a theatrical distribution in Europe (produced by Reck Productions (Switzerland).

We also produced Humanitarian Short movies (Barefoot Acupuncturists, Women In India, Feel Safe, Terre des Hommes) and short documentaries (Manori Island, NRI Wedding).

Curry Western has been line producing for several programs for Swiss, Canadian, French and German broadcasters on different topics all over India, and also made a corporate video (Raisoni Group) and commercials (Coop Naturaline).

Curry Western has initiated eurindiamedia (eurindiamedia.org) with Peacefulfish, based in Berlin. Eurindiamedia is a platform to facilitate coproductions between Europe and India, and it is the official representative of the European Film Commission in India. Together they have produced the European Coproduction Lounge at Mumbai’s Ficci Frames, Asia’s largest convention event, in 2012 and 2013.

Curry Western created in 2009 The Swiss-Indian Film Bridge and organised mini-festival and business cocktails to facilitate contacts and information between producers of both countries. The SIFB is working with the Swiss Consulate in Mumbai and Bangalore, the Swiss Embassy in Delhi, the Swissnex in Bangalore, and the Indian Ministry of Broadcasting.

Curry Western coproduces with its sister companies Les Films du Lotus (Switzerland) and Curry Western Entertainment (U.K.), founded by Kamal Musale.
